Copper(II)-catalyzed trifluoromethylation of N-aryl imines.

چکیده
Methods for imine trifluoromethylation are of great importance because amines with trifluoromethylated stereogenic centers are useful building blocks for synthetic chemistry and drug discovery. Herein, we describe a new copper(II)-catalyzed imine trifluoromethylation method without the use of Lewis base activators, presumably through cooperative activation.

Copper-catalyzed trifluoromethylation of aryl boronic acids using a CF3+ reagent.
A copper-catalyzed process for trifluoromethylation of aryl, heteroaryl, and vinyl boronic acids has been developed. The reaction is conducted under mild conditions and shows tolerance to moisture and a variety of functional groups.
متن کاملCu-catalyzed trifluoromethylation of aryl iodides with trifluoromethylzinc reagent prepared in situ from trifluoromethyl iodide
The trifluoromethylation of aryl iodides catalyzed by copper(I) salt with trifluoromethylzinc reagent prepared in situ from trifluoromethyl iodide and Zn dust was accomplished. The catalytic reactions proceeded under mild reaction conditions, providing the corresponding aromatic trifluoromethylated products in moderate to high yields. The advantage of this method is that additives such as metal...

Trifluoromethyl-substituted arenes and heteroarenes are widely prevalent in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. As a result, the development of practical methods for the formation of aryl-CF3 bonds has become an active field of research. Over the past five years, transition metal catalyzed cross-coupling between aryl-X (X = halide, organometallic, or H) and various "CF3" reagents has emerged as ...

متن کاملA DFT study of the mechanism of copper-catalyzed synthesis of 2H-indazoles from aryl azide.
DFT calculations have been performed to study the reaction mechanism of N-N bond formation from aryl azide catalyzed by the copper(I) iodide complex. We studied various activation modes for the azide group, and found that the azide group is activated by the Cu(μ-I)2Cu(TMEDA) dimer coordinating to the N-atom of phenyl imine and the internal N-atom of azide.
